Eye-Opening Update on Human Trafficking in Iowa

April is National Child Abuse Prevention Month. Did you know -- the majority of those affected by human trafficking never get out? And that human trafficking is happening all around us, even in Iowa?

Please join the League of Women Voters at the Hiawatha Library to hear from Chains Interrupted, a local non-profit dedicated to the prevention of human trafficking through awareness, prevention, and advocacy.

Marilyn Muhle, Chains Interrupted volunteer, will counter the myths that human trafficking is rare, and it happens "somewhere else." She'll describe how they partner with local hotels, hospitals, and schools to help us recognize the signs.

All monthly LWV programs are open to the public. Please forward this to like-minded friends, and make plans to join us on April 8.

Light refreshments will be served.
