Topic: Why Carbon Pricing is So Important

The scientific community, and most Iowans, understand that we must severely curtail the greenhouse gas emissions that are causing global warming, and we must do it now. Making that happen involves more than just science though. It involves politics, economics and, most importantly, human behavior. Pricing carbon (that is, making people pay for the greenhouse gases they create) is the most effective way to address the problem. On Saturday, Rolnick will explain why pricing carbon is the critical next step, and how you can influence the future.

Speaker
Peter Rolnick is a retired college physics professor, father and grandfather. He and his wife live in Iowa City. Rolnick is also the Iowa state coordinator for Citizens' Climate Lobby, an organization focused on creating the political will for legislative action on climate change.
